QinetiQ’s Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) have been in active duty for over 20 years supporting critical missions worldwide.
Since its introduction in 2000, QinetiQ’s Dragon Runner and TALON® family of unmanned ground robots have earned a reputation for durability, flexibility, reliability and performance in keeping personnel, assets and civilians out of harm’s way. In military, law enforcement and first responder applications, QinetiQ’s robots are widely deployed for improvised explosive device (IED) and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), reconnaissance, communications, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear), HAZMAT, security, heavy lift, defense and rescue missions. QinetiQ’s CBRN/Hazmat modular kit is available for TALON IV and V models.
QinetiQ and COBBS Industries BV provided these UGVs, such as the Dragon Runner 20 and TALON robots to several European countries in support of national and international missions. Having seen combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, the robots have proven their durability time and time again. The Dragon Runner was also deployed to Mali with our own Dutch troops.
Now on its fifth generation, TALON 5 has been upgraded to exceed the operational requirements for the man on the ground in an ever high-pacing battlefield.
